I was born and raised in Plainville, Massachusetts, by a school teacher and the owner of a deli and cafe. I grew up playing sports, making music, and developing a deep appreciation for the seasons and scenery of New England.
In 2009, I moved to Baltimore to study at the Maryland Institute College of Art, where I earned a BFA in Graphic Design with a minor in Bookmaking. While there, I founded Hidden Vision Records, a cassette tape label that grew out a love for experimental and avant-garde music. HVR produced 16 Baltimore-centric noise and punk releases between 2013 and 2017.
At the same time, along with some friends from back home, I helped launch The Narrator, an independent arts and literary magazine. We published five issues of prose, poetry, and visual art. For each issue, I created a highly produced (for the time) digital counterpart.
After graduating from MICA, my future wife and I spent a brief stint in Boston, during which we also traveled a bit, spending a month backpacking through Europe and another month cross-country roadtripping across the U.S.
In 2014, we moved to Washington, D.C., where I worked my way up from barista to lead designer at Dolcezza Coffee & Gelato. My work included signage, packaging, event promotion, and more, including the pitch that secured the company a permanent partnership with the Hirshhorn Museum.
In 2017, I joined the beauty retailer Bluemercury as a packaging designer. I began working on digital campaigns and was soon promoted to lead site designer. Over the next five years, I helped redesign and develop Bluemercury’s e-commerce platform and broader digital presence.
While at Bluemercury, I co-founded Garden Party, a small creative studio focused on custom web and identity work. In our first few years, we designed several brand identities and developed a couple cool web apps.
Since 2024, I’ve been freelancing and building tone.audio, a co-op structured music listening service, from Brooklyn, where I live with my wife. I’m currently available for full-time, part-time, and contract work.
